Throughout the past few years Seán Needham and the Red Lake Band have been bringing their blend of ‘upbeat folk rock’ to audiences across Denmark and Ireland. His music style been described as Van Morrison meets The Black Keys.
The live show offers uplifting melodies and meaningful lyrics, interwoven with some curious stories from Seán and the band. The band is a mix of Irish, Danish and English musicians with Seán Needham (guitar/ vocals), John McGeer (bass/vocals), Christian Worm (guitar), Rikke Bjerre (Percussion) & Steve Green (sax/keys)
Sean and the Red Lake Band have been playing the Festival circuit around Denmark including Tønder festival, Tisvilde festival, Christiania Festival, Svendborg Festival and the Copenhagen Songwriters Festival.
Sean recorded his latest album ‘Time is a Friend’ in Denmark with the help of producer Julian Falck of Mofus.
The first single ‘I’m Not Afraid’ has been play listed on Denmark’s national radio station P4 and the music video was listed as one of the most original concept for a video by the Irish Music Television website.
‘A Child Could Save Us All’ also from ‘Time is a Friend’ was chosen an one of the top 5 Christmas songs by Christmas FM radio in Ireland.
Seán released his first album entitled ‘Loosely Based on a True Story’ in Ireland in 2004. The single ‘Hey Juliet’ was play-listed on nation and regional radio stations across Ireland and earned Sean much publicity and support slots with major artists including, Tracy Chapman, Diana Krall, Huey Lewis and the News and the late great legend Bo Diddley.
Seán has also shared the stage with artists such as Teitur, Lukas Graham and Rasmus Nøhr in Denmark.
